Desert Winds High School offers a smaller classroom setting allowing teachers the ability to offer the individual attention students need as they progress toward graduation. All students at Desert Winds High School are welcomed and introduced to new opportunities and approaches to an educationally sound curriculum. There are a variety of reasons students attend Desert Winds High School, and the primary goal is to provide each of them with the necessary skills to become productive members of a diverse society.
Desert Winds High School was recognized for excellence in the implementation of the Positive Behavioral Supports and Interventions (PBIS) Program this past school year. All students were trained to be Responsible, Engaged and Persevering across all areas of campus. They received an R.E.P. card to either make purchases from the student store or pick prizes from the prize box. Through PBIS, students learn how to behave properly in a positive setting which leads to better social and academic outcomes. A big thank you to our PBIS Team, the entire staff. It truly takes a team!
